We take the utmost care to ensure all of our tubers leave in a healthy condition with viable eyes. Please unpack and inspect your order promptly on arrival. If your order arrives damaged or there is an issue with your tubers, please contact us via email within 48 hours of delivery with photographs and order details.

Ideally your tubers should be planted as soon as possible after you receive them. Successful growth depends on climate, soil conditions, weather, pest pressure and individual growing practices. We cannot guarantee performance, growth or flowering results once tubers leave our care.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By purchasing from our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Product information = All dahlia tubers are sold as individual tubers unless otherwise stated. As dahlias are a natural product, variation in size, shape and colour may occur. While every effort is made to ensure varietal accuracy, on rare occasions mislabelling can occur and we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy.

We actively monitor our stock and follow strict sanitation practices to maintain healthy plants. However, virus can still be dormant in dahlia plants. Because of this, it is impossible to guarantee that dahlia tubers are completely free from all viruses, diseases, pests, or disorders. By purchasing from us, customers acknowledge and accept this risk. Dahlia plants are more likely to express symptoms from a virus when they are under stress.

Orders and payment = Full payment is required at the time of purchase. Items in your cart are not reserved until the order is paid and finalised. Orders are processed in the order they are received. We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order due to stock availability, pricing errors or unforeseen circumstances.

Shipping = Tubers are shipped within Australia via Australia Post Express Parcel Post during September. Customers are responsible for ensuring shipping details are correct at checkout. Once parcels have been lodged, we are not responsible for delays, damage or loss caused by Australia Post, severe weather, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Shipping dates are estimates only and may vary due to weather conditions, staffing, or postal delays.

Returns and Refunds = Due to the perishable nature of dahlia tubers, returns and change-of-mind refunds are generally not accepted. If your order arrives damaged or there is an issue with your tubers, please contact us via email within 48 hours of delivery with photographs and order details. Refunds, replacements, or store credits may be offered at our discretion where products arrive damaged, are incorrectly supplied, or do not meet the standards described in our listing.

Growing conditions = Successful growth depends on climate, soil conditions, weather, pest pressure and individual growing practices. We cannot guarantee performance, growth or flowering results once tubers leave our care.

Biosecurity = Customers are responsible for complying with any local quarantine or biosecurity requirements relevant to their state or region before purchasing.

We reserve the right to cancel and refund orders that cannot legally be shipped to the customer's location.

Limitation of liability - To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to the replacement, refund, or credit of the original purchase price of the affected product.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the purchase, use, storage, or cultivation of our products.

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights available to consumers under Australian Consumer Law.

Intellectual Property = All images, text and content on this website remain the property of the business and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Contact = If you have any questions regarding your order or these terms and conditions, please contact us via the website contact form or email us at blooms@colliecottage.com.au

 CARING FOR YOUR DAHLIAS

Dahlia's like to be planted in a sunny, well-drained position once the risk of frost has passed and soil temperatures have warmed. Lay the tuber horizontally with the eye or sprout facing upward. Plant to a depth of approximately 10–15cm and space ideally 40 - 60cm apart. If you are short on space you can plant densely at 30cm spacings like we do here on the farm, and accomodate for this with extra nutrient feeds throughout the season.

After planting water lightly, but do not overwater until you see shoots appear as this can cause the plants to rot. Once you see active growth, plants can be watered regularly. When plants reach approx 30cm you can pinch out the growing tip to stimulate branching, which will give you more blooms. As your plants grow they will require support such as staking, floral mesh or corralling. Dahlias are cut and come again plants so don't be afraid to harvest your blooms... they will thank you and reward you with more!
